Handy Park Pavilion
Handy Park Pavilion on Beale Street is at the top of the list! This is a public park with a large stage and smaller performance stage. They are able to have concerts for several thousand people, or for smaller intimate groups. These music events are always free and always open to the public. They seem to be known for their bike nights and they are also known to play more Blues, but you will also hear country, rock, and other styles here.
This is bar that more directed toward college kids. It been open for 40 years. It is located on the Highland strip, and they closed down for a short time, and have reopened. They seem to be doing better than ever. They have a decent sized menu to choose from, and plenty of drink specials through the week. They have a calendar on their website so you are able to see in advance what will be going on there whenever you would like to visit.
This location is Midtown and it is concert venue. It has a semi-chic lounge. It hosts some of the best Memphis bands. They only have a $3 ticket price which you are able to purchase either online, by phone, or in person. They do have a list of rules that will need to be followed at this location. They have LED lighting, a kitchen, a bar, dressing rooms, private parking lots, and bus/trailer/truck parking. They can have up to 1600 people attend!
This café has earned worldwide fame for their ribs! Also for their live shows in their band box. They opened 1991 under a different name. In 1993, investors bought it and that is when it became Blues City Café. They kept the same employees around from the 90s though, so many faces that were there then are still there today! They are very consistent with their food and are always trying to improve! They have a calendar full of all of their music events for each and every month. They are able to help with events and offer catering. They are able to do any size group and will provide food, drinks, and tents!
This bar is located in the heart of Crosstown in Memphis. They are open from 5pm until 3am. If you are 21 or older, they will allow you in their lounge before they open. You are able to buy tickets at the door, and they have some seating available. They offer private events, so if anyone wanted to have wedding receptions, ceremonies, work parties, fundraisers, proms, or private parties, you can do all of that with them! They have a calendar on their website showing who will be playing music on what days there.
