For the music lover, Nashville, Tennessee is music heaven! While the town is most well known for its country music and the many country artists that call Nashville home, it is becoming increasingly common to hear many different genres of music at any of the 150+ music venues in the area. Since it would be virtually impossible to visit all of these locations during a visit to the area, locals and tourists alike have given their opinions on the best places to enjoy live music in Music City itself.
Here are the 5 best live music venues in Nashville, TN:
1. Ryman Auditorium
One of the most historic places in Nashville and home to the Grand Ole Opry for many years, the Ryman Auditorium hosts a wide variety of country artists from country legends like Loretta Lynn and Willie Nelson to up and coming country stars like Kelsea Ballerini and Chris Janson. There are two or three shows each week and there are no bad seats in the house. The Ryman is the epitome of Nashville history and tradition, and it is a must see for any true country music fan.
2. Bluebird Café
This 90 seat venue is known around the world as a place where songwriters from all music genres perform their own music. Due to the popularity and size of this venue, guests must plan ahead in order to enjoy this “unforgettable experience” as many patrons have described it. 3. 3rd & Lindsley
Yes, 3rd & Lindsley is the name of the venue as well as the cross street names of the location. Most nights, it is filled to capacity. Guests report there being great sound and lighting for the performances.
5. The Station Inn
Depending on the night of the week, guests of this venue will be treated to a variety of music from Country to Roots to Rock, but the featured music here, and the reason for its popularity, is authentic Bluegrass music.
